I am a believer of Jesus Christ, the Son of the only true and living God. I am a licensed minister, called to preach and teach “the Gospel of Jesus Christ, of which I am not ashamed, for it is the power of God unto salvation.”
The history of my involvement with the local church originates in the ‘70s, when I first accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I was baptized in Lake Michigan on a warm sunrise Sunday morning while serving under the Church of God In Christ teachings at Amazing Church of God In Christ and the Leadership Elder Jefferson Campbell, I sang in the choir, taught and participated heavily in Sunday school, Young People Willing Workers (Y.P.W.W.), Bible Class, Home and Foreign Mission. As I grew up in the church, I found myself interested in becoming a Jr. Deacon. I served in that capacity at the age of 10 – 16 years old, while performing other duties as the choir musician and singer in the young people’s choir. In 1983, I joined First Corinthians M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Harvey Spivey where I actively served as a tenor in the choir Voices of Victory under the inspiring teachings of Evangelist Angela Spivey.
She inspired me to believe that singing was the greatest way to give thanks to God, so God allowed me to continue to sing in various choirs and strengthening me in the process. I later enlisted in the U.S ARMY in 1985 where I continued to learn life lessons and how to be an effective leader. I found myself equally dedicated to being a leader of my family. God never left me during this time; He continued to send intercessors my way letting me know that He still loves me. I served in the military until I retired in 2004. After retiring from the military, I attended Devry University, where I obtained my Bachelors of Science degree of Technical Management with concentrations in Small Business Entrepreneurship.
Since 2008, I have been busy evangelizing and ministering to persons during everyday interaction. I devoted myself to reaching out to all persons from all backgrounds talking and giving the expository message of the Bible as well as meeting new believers through web design and book marketing. Furthermore, I have served as an assistant pastor, intercessory prayer team and performed ministerial duties to include; assisting the Pastor in duties as needed, preaching when called upon, conducting church alter calls, devotional services, and Memorial services. I've learned that a good minister is a servant to the people first, a pastor and a mentor that listens and seeks God for guidance as God ordained.
In 2008, I was blessed to serve under the leadership of Pastor D.D. Nabor and the Covenant of Faith church where my duties included editing the church newsletter, teaching the young men during men’s mentoring programs and praise team ministries. In that same year I started my own company called Walkus Consulting Solutions (www.walkusservices.com) our motto is “One project, One Vision at a Time”. Later that year, after more than18 years of running, I answered my call to the ministry and began a life of re-dedication, restoration, re-direction and complete devotion to the Word of God. God inspired me to author a testimony about my life, my lessons and my true experiences of Faith in God’s word.
In 2010, God is ordered my steps to Bolingbrook Community Church and pastor Calvin Quarles. His teaching and constant urge that we coninue to serve as ministers to those who are lost truly encouraged me to Let go and Let God. Christ further appointed and instructed me and my wife, Minister Denise P. Ford-Walker, to begin our outreach ministry called Reflections of Grace Outreach Ministries. Jesus Christ has changed my life, I learned how to trust and depend on Him. There wasn’t a time that Jesus Christ did not step in and deliver me and my family from poverty, harm, and danger. My life has been changed according to my confession of faith in Christ. I now have access to God, because of His grace, the death, burial, and resurrection of my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ and I know that My Steps Have Already Been Ordered by the Lord.
